Pick a date from the list of best days to pick up a new car, with the reason shown for each. The almanac has no entry for picking up a car, so these are its lucky days for deals, since paying for a car and taking it home counts as a deal.
Going by the Chinese almanac, with the worst days removed, 41 days from Wed, Oct 28 to Sun, Apr 25 rate good or better. The nearest is Wed, Nov 4; the top pick is Tue, Nov 24.
Year Breaker and Month Breaker days, the day before each equinox, solstice and season start (Si Li and Si Jue), and Yang Gong’s taboo days are always removed. 10 days in this range were marked good for this but fell on one of them.
It also removes days that clash with that person’s Chinese zodiac animal. You can add several family members. Birthdays stay on this device.
The days rated best are those where tradition favors the day for deals and the day also carries two or more of the lucky stars or day officers the old books like for this. Those stars include Heavenly Wish, Triple Harmony, Six Harmony and Five Riches, and the favored day officer is Full. The list on this site shows the reason for each date, and Year Breaker, Month Breaker and Yang Gong days are already removed.
83 days in 2027 are marked as lucky for picking up a new car, and 27 of them are rated best. 21 of the 83 fall on a weekend, which helps if you work during the week.
In 2027, March has the most lucky days, with 12. That is only a count of days for that year, not a rule that March is better than other months. Any month can have good dates, so choose a single day rather than a whole month.
Yes, tradition says to skip days that clash with your zodiac animal. Add your birthday on this site and it drops those days, using the zodiac year that starts at the Start of Spring solar term. You can add family members who will ride in the car too.
Tradition points to the Yellow Path double-hours of the chosen day, in daytime only, from 5 am to 7 pm. This site suggests up to 3 and skips any double-hour that clashes with a person whose birthday you entered. Those hours are listed with each date.
It matters only if you want it to, since this is a tradition and practice varies. If the dealer's date is fixed, you can check it against the ruled-out days: Year Breaker, Month Breaker, Si Li, Si Jue and Yang Gong days, plus the day of an equinox or solstice. Many people then pick a lucky double-hour on that day for the actual pickup, which the almanac, in the Xieji Bianfang Shu, a classical text on date selection, treats as part of a deal.
